How your mind-set is keeping you overweight

If you’re struggling with your weight and you’ve tried all sorts of diets and other remedies for weight loss without seeing decent results then its important that you consider looking into some different weight loss methods. Its highly likely that your mind-set will be holding you back from achieving permanent weight loss. Lets take a look at why this could be true.

First off, lets have a look at the self management sequence. This refers to the driving force behind all of your actions and everything you do. It pretty much goes like this:

Your actions are created by your feelings. Your feelings are created by your attitudes. Your attitudes are created by your beliefs, and your beliefs are created by your programming.

What this means is that your programming, or subconscious, is going to determine exactly what you do on a day to day basis by running through the self management sequence. This programming is essentially the foundation and if you want to perform the right actions to achieve a result then you need to make sure that your subconscious ‘wiring’ is supporting, not sabotaging your efforts.

So what does this have to do with your weight?

Well, by failing to develop the right mind-set and programming you actions will never be ‘right’ and will never consistently help you achieve the result you crave. So you’re unlikely to stick with a healthy eating plan for long, exercise frequently, make the right decisions, and so on. If you don’t have this mind-set, your actions simply won’t be in line with what you are looking to achieve.

If you have ever tried to lose weight in the past, perhaps with some short term success, but have subsequently seen the weight rebound every time, you will amost certainly have the ‘wrong’ inner wiring and mind-set. You may see short term success, but this will never last.

Most people only focus on the nutrition and exercise side of things when they try to lose weight. This is woefully insufficient because there’s no way you’re going to be able to make consistently positive decisions about nutrition and exercise if your mind-set and programming are wrong.

So before you even consider trying another diet or weight loss programme, please do focus on developing that positive, long term weight loss mind-set. If you don’t you’ll be sure to keep struggling.
